Survive is a dynamic and innovative agency providing high quality services to adults and children affected by domestic violence and abuse in South Gloucestershire and Bristol. We are currently advertising the following position:

IDVA & Outreach Service Manager (Female only*)

The IDVA and Outreach Service Manager will manage a team of 6 Independent Domestic Violence Advisers (IDVA’s) 1 full and five part-time (including three IDSVA’s based at A&E), 2 part time Outreach Workers, and project management support to Group Work facilitators.  IDVA’s offer a service to women at high risk of domestic violence and abuse, each managing a case load of up to 20 women at any one time. IDVA’s provide advocacy, representation at multi-agency risk assessment conferences (MARAC). Our outreach support involves one to one support and 3 Information Sessions run throughout the county to support women to access our services.  The A&E IDSVA service provides an immediate support service to women and men who present at Southmead Emergency Department, working closely alongside the staff, offering training and raising awareness to support the disclosure of domestic violence and abuse.  They will signpost men to specialist support and work with women for up to 2 weeks.

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence, at least 4 year’s relevant experience including case and staff management, excellent interpersonal skills and level 4 qualifications in Social Work/an IDVA qualification or a related field (or level 3 with an additional 2 years experience). The IDVA and Outreach Service Manager will work in partnership with two other operational managers and one organisational manager. There will be wider support of a full staff team of 25 staff across all of our services.

Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (female only*) 22.5hrs a week Maternity Cover

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) at Survive, you will provide survivors of domestic violence and abuse in South Gloucestershire with intensive one-to-one advocacy and support, until their risks have been reduced and their safety needs have been met. You will represent Survive as the Lead IDVA at the monthly Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC). You will present the voice of the victim at the MARAC and represent their needs, and conduct all pre and post MARAC actions. You will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and abuse, and the rights of and remedies available to survivors of domestic violence. You will use this knowledge to strongly and professionally advocate for them within a multi agency context. You will have at least 2 years experience of work in a relevant field, be a qualified IDVA holding a SafeLives qualification or Women’s Aid equivalent.

You will join a team of two part-time IDVAs, one part-time Outreach Worker and one part-time Specialist Outreach Worker, all based at our main office. You will also work alongside one full-time and one part-time IDSVA based in Southmead A&E department.  The IDVA and Outreach team works towards providing a high quality service to people experiencing domestic violence and abuse, to reduce their immediate risk and signpost them to options which support their recovery.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week – maternity cover (Fixed term until 28th September 2017 or until the post holder returns – further employment opportunities subject to funding)

Salary:  £24,075 pro rata

We offer a range of services for women and children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse and increasingly work to provide preventative services within schools.  We want you to join us working towards freedom from domestic abuse.

We are currently looking to recruit a trustee (voluntary position)

In what are increasingly challenging times for the voluntary sector, we are seeking to extend our Board of Trustees to support the running and continuing development of Survive. We would welcome applications from those who share our aims and have a range of skills and experience. The Board aims to have a diverse make up and welcomes applications from all communities and backgrounds.

We seek an organised, enthusiastic person to join our Board of Trustees. We provide training and travel expenses and the opportunity to join a friendly, skilled and committed team and to learn new skills.

We are particularly looking for volunteers with expertise in one or more of, but not limited to, the following areas:

– Governance and compliance with the legal and financial requirements of the Charity Commission

– Income generation including fund raising

– Marketing & communications

– HR and management

– Service delivery in health, housing and social care

– Experience of working with those that have experienced domestic abuse

You would need to be able to attend Trustee meetings every other month during the evening for a minimum period of one year.
