Survive, the leading Domestic Abuse organisation in South Gloucestershire, is looking to recruit volunteers to help provide outreach support.

Outreach Volunteer (female only)*

Working within the Outreach and IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Adviser) team, this role encompasses a range of different activities to provide women with ongoing practical and emotional support.  It could include; supporting women with form-filling, housing benefit applications, grant applications, providing support or childcare for sensitive appointments, accompanying women to pre-trial visits or court hearings and providing emotional support with these processes.

We ask our volunteers to commit for a period of at least one year for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Skills, knowledge required:

  • Good understanding of Domestic Abuse causes and impacts
  • Ability to support others practically and emotionally
  • Ability to maintain clear boundaries
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
  • Flexibility and ability to handle change confidently
