I started volunteering for Survive over 5 years ago when I heard of the charity through a colleague, after experiencing first-hand what effect domestic violence can have on children. Growing up and watching what my mum went through I knew I wanted to get involved. I wanted to do something to help raise awareness of the charity, because I know my family would have reached out if we knew help was there. It's a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and do something really worthwhile with your time.
